Bald Eagle Look Out
If you would like to get a peek at the bald eagles' nest built atop the trees on the proposed police gun range site stop by Windjammers at 13701 Hoxie Avenue. Mike Olson, the proprietor, will be glad to serve you a cold brew while pointing out the nest. Just be sure to bring a pair of binoculars with.

Visited the Windjammer late Sunday afternoon, 3/4/12. Mike was out.
ReplyDeleteLooked across the river with binoculars for about 90 minutes, mostly from picnic tables along side the river as well as from inside the Windjammer.
No eagles, but I thought I saw a puddy....a purple martin. Was very surprised.
it's a pleasant view. Lots of gulls. Some barge traffic
First time in that area.
